Attractively designed & entertaining nautically themed chart of "The Sea of Matrimony with principal points of Peril for Matrimonial Mariners" depicting two recent newly-weds setting out on a fair wind in a sail boat piloted by a winged Cupid to navigate the uncertain & dangerous waters ahead. Avoiding "Cape Habit", "Uncongenial Temperaments Reefs" & "Selfishness Rocks", they are set to chart a course through narrow "Financial Straits" to finally arrive safe & sound at their home on "Blessed Isle" in "Felicity Harbour". The titlepiece lower right includes a depiction of a couple exchanging rings on their wedding day in front of an officiating clergyman. The map was published in 1931 and was designed by early 20th Century American book designer and illustrator, Thomas Maitland Cleland [1880-1964].
