Stunning World map design published by Pan American World Airways in 1946. It provides a vibrantly colorful visual celebration of the remarkable development of land, sea and air transportation through the Ages with a processional progress of carts & trains, ships and planes embellishing the map borders. The central pictorial map highlights the natural wonders, indigenous cultures, flora, fauna, tourist attractions and historical landmarks of the different regions of the World, all connected by Pan Am's growing fleet of long-range intercontinental Clippers. These included the Douglas DC-3 & DC-4 and the new & pressurised Lockheed Constellation, which first came into service on Pan Am's transatlantic routes in January 1946.
