Stunning Poster map published in 1927 for the British Empire Marketing Board and designed by the famous British architect & poster artist, Leslie MacDonald Gill [1884-1947]. The map was the opening poster in a huge advertising campaign to promote greater trade between Britain and her Empire. It cleverly illustrates the symbiotic highways of commerce and great flows of maritime trade between Britain and her imperial outposts around the globe, all highlighted in red. Note also the confused polar bears mistakenly placed on the iceflows of Antarctica!
