Charming pictorial map of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) originally designed as a postcard & advertising leaflet in about 1933 by the renowned British pictorial mapmaker, poster artist & graphic designer, Leslie MacDonald Gill [1884-1947]. The map was commissioned by the wonderfully named Ceylon Tea Propaganda Board (CTPB) as part of a marketing & advertising campaign in the early 1930s to both improve the quality of Ceylon tea from the plantation owners & producers and encourage its greater consumption not only in Great Britain but across the British Empire.
