Artist's Description
Stunning World War One Propaganda Poster published in Moscow in October 1914 and presented in the form of a colorful traditional Russian "lubok" or cartoon, in which the goggle-eyed German Kaiser Wilhelm wakes from a nightmarish slumber to witness a Russian cossack cavalryman galloping towards him across Eastern Europe with lowered lance & soon to be planted straight into his gaping mouth. The poster was published after the opening campaign on the Russian Eastern front when the Germans had first encountered the much-feared Russian Cossacks.
