Description
Geography Bewitched or a droll Caricature Map of Ireland: One of a set of three wonderful late 18th Century caricature designs depicting the nations of the British Isles. The figure of Lady Hibernia or Erin - the personification of Ireland - is depicted as a bonneted harp-strumming mother with a small child strapped to her back. Originally created by the English caricaturist, Robert Dighton, the set were published by the London firm of Bowles & Carver in about 1790.
